Time & Tide Project Report for October (Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund & the Big Lottery).

Monday, 20 October 2008

The Consultants contracted to provide maps, sketches, plans and costs completed their work in September and the 3Ps Project Team has continued its work to finish the bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Committee, at its meeting on the 6th October expressed satisfaction with progress and was informed that a meeting had been arranged with District Council Officers on the 10th October to review the project.
A meeting has also been arranged with the Heritage Lottery Fund on the 24th October at which it is hoped to receive guidance about the acceptability of the scheme and how to continue the application process. It is also anticipated that their view of the Grange Regeneration proposals recently put forward by the five developers will be discussed.
If the re-development of the Lido and the provision of the bridge link to the promenade is undertaken through the Regeneration Scheme the cost of the remainder of the renovation works to the Promenade, Ornamental and Park Road Gardens is reduced to approximately £3million of which 25%, or £750,000 will be need to be provided from the Regeneration Scheme in order to access the Heritage Lottery Funding.
It is planned to hand over the completed Stage 1 Lottery Bid to the District Council Cabinet on the 12th November when they hold their meeting in Grange.
