Time & Tide Project (supported by the Hertitage Lottery Fund & the Big Lottery) – Report for August 2008

Wednesday, 20 August 2008

The Open Day held in the Victoria Hall on the 4th August was attended by over 200 people who were able to inspect the ten most important plans, sketches and documents out of the eighteen needed for the first stage of the Bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The Conservation Management and Audience Development Plans set out the background to the project and the justification for requesting an investment of money in the renovation of the Promenade, Ornamental and Park Road Gardens. These plans, based on information collected by the 3Ps project team, along with maps and sketches of specific aspects of the scheme were prepared by Consultants from the consortium put together by John Coward Architects of Cartmel.
The Consultants work will be finished early in September, which will enable the 3Ps Group to complete the remaining documentation and the application form to place before South Lakeland District Council in October. The Council will then be able to submit the Stage One Bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Information about the project will continue to be displayed on the notice board next to the Council Office entrance of the Victoria Hall and on the Grange Town Council website.
The 3Ps Committee will also investigate the possibility of a display of the Architects work in the library or other suitable place.
Thank you to all those who attended the Open Day and for their interest and comments.
